Huddle

Junior has been helping with coaching his former ice hockey team - he is no longer eligible to play under a student registration. 

Tonight was one of their biggest occasions of the season - the annual "Varsity" match - St Andrews v Edinburgh. Since it was taking place at Fife Ice Arena, I went along to add my support. 

As usual, St Andrews had bused in a large, noisy, beer-fuelled crowd - mostly North American. It creates atmosphere, but is always on the verge of being unpleasant. I saw one object - too far away to see what it was - thrown from the crowd at an Edinburgh player. 

It just missed a security guy, and he was forced to pretend he had not seen it.
