Into Darkness

It's a photograph of a movie poster at the cinema blip. It's a lazy photograph but a good way for me to keep a record of when and what I see at the cinema. Recalling the experience of watching a film at the cinema often brings back as many memories as seeing a photograph.
Sidenote- why do all cinemas have garish 90's style carpets?

Star Trek Into Darkness 3D.
It was shiny with lots of lens flare. The 3D, as with all of these films was interesting in a couple of places but most of the time you forget it was there.
They have re-designed the glasses (to be a bit more hipster I think), and Mrs B had some trouble getting them to fit. We had to improvise using whatever bits of tissue and whatever we could find in her handbag.

Having just watched the old Star Trek film, which, you err shares some similarities with this one, I realised that I don't really care much about the new incarnations. When Leonard Nimoy has an unfortunate incident at the end of the the 1982 version, it's still quite emotional, even though I have seen it many times. The repercussions are also not neatly resolved 5 minutes later. The equivalent moments here just didn't' carry the same punch. Maybe because in my head they aren't *really* Kirk and he isn't *really* Spock. And paying such a homage to a previous film makes things a little bit more predictable.

Definitely good fun, but lacking emotional weight. Benedict Cumberbatch is of course fantastic though.
