twinned with trumpton

Another day, another train to Dunblane. Once they'd inspected the track and declared it fit for purpose

Paw duly ferried us the final few miles and lunch was taken.

In order to get out of the way of the cleaner, the men folk went off to the cemetery to clear up some branches and potter down by the Knaik, spotting swallows (early?) and a pair of eiders. Then hot cross buns (sans cross- non denominational?) before the real reason for the visit to the grand parents.

The chance to wrap up (more or less) the League 2 title with the 2nd game against Elgin in 4 days.

Off to Frothbank with a bumper crowd in, no doubt swelled by the school holidays, expectant of another cruise through.

Not so. Although Dale Carrick netted his 22nd on the stroke of half time, it was Blair Currie to the rescue with 3 fine saves including one astonishing effort when he was 1 v 1 with Kane Hestor.

All about the result, not the performance and it ended 1-0 and with 8 points plus way better goal difference and a mere 6 games to go, it does look like obese woman should be invited to do her vocal exercises ahead a song. At one point Dumbarton held an 11 point advantage over the Binos, so a 19 point swing is some feat.

Tune in next Tuesday for a possible victory parade at The Rock, Dumbarton. Although Ochilview on Saturday week looks a much better shout. Just so long as we don't leave it to the final day at Cliftonhill.....
