Coltfoot

These have survived - 8 C. I like their attitude. When the snow melt a bit, a bud shoot up to check if spring has arrived  and send a signal down to the root. The flower that is sent up first will likely die without setting seed, but the rest of the plant will know if is spring or winter :-)
