Partial Rattlesnake

I nearly stepped on it and screamed/jumped.  I was stunned I wasn't bitten.  I realized it was dead but I still felt it's scaryness!  I didn't get close and should have gotten on the other side for the photo.  The glare was so bad I couldn't see a thing and nearly missed it entirely.  It's head and tail had been cut off.  Even in this state I find them so intimidating.
