Mozambique Chic

An interesting visit to the Island of Mozambique today.  A place with lots of history dating back to the 1500's, with Portuguese, Dutch, French, and English influences.

We took a walking tour in the pouring rain with a friendly guide who did his best to tell us everything he knew, although the language difference hampered him a bit.  The main industry here is tourism, but my goodness they have a long way to go before they are likely to become one of the most sought-after holiday hot spots -- very ramshackle and crumbling, but lots of lovely old buildings crying out for restoration.

Extra: A pair of dhows (local fishermens' boats) in the early morning mist.
