Clink

This part of London always reminds me of Dickens but it is much, much older. It’s the site of the Clink prison which was owned by the Bishop of Winchester since medieval times. The remains of his London palace, with its beautiful rose window, are behind me as I take this photo. The prison is now a museum and this part of Southwark is very touristy, especially around Borough Market.

I was on my way to London Bridge to catch the Uckfield train. I got off at Buxted and walked the rest of the way - I’d been sitting down too long for one day. The journey has been very easy - trains on time and not crowded.

I found Mum and Dad in good spirits and we are going out for an Indian meal tonight which will be nice as I haven’t eaten all day :-)
