Unexpected visitor

I have never seen a brown praying mantis before: looked it up and think it is Miomantis caffra (South African praying mantis), not our usual New Zealand one (Orthodera novaezealandia). If so it is not the most welcome as the latter are apparent losing territory to Miomantis, but I still appreciate the help in the garden.
And thanks to the insect for posing in good light (on an outside lantern).
