The Price is Right

A funny morning at the doctor's office. Sat in a waiting room of lively old guys actively playing along with the Price is Right as they waited for their appt. They always guessed the wrong prices, but then dismissed it by saying "them's California prices." It annoyed me for a while b/c I was trying to get into a Bryson book about British culture. Then, it dawned on me...there was an interesting culture show going on right in front of me, so I joined in & offered my two-cents on the price of a Fiat 500 ($18,238 by the way). They didn't think much of the tiny car, but one guy said "an ugly car beats a flashy walk any day." Ha. I'm glad I let down my grump-shield & enjoyed their company.
