Wellington and the Royal Exchange

A meeting in the City today, which got moved back so I had a little free time for a wander. On my way to the nearest guitar shop I stopped at Bank and took this shot of the Monument to Wellington which is outside the Royal Exchange. Cast from the iron canons of his defeated enemies.

Now for some Trivia ;)

The Horse has all four feet on the ground, this signifies that the person on it (Wellington in this case) did not die in battle, but of something unrelated later in life.
If the horse has three feet on the ground then this means the rider died of wounds they sustained in battle and if the horse has two feet on the ground then this signifies the rider died in battle..

Things you learn on an open top bus tour eh ;)

Anyway the meeting was good and I avoided spending any money in a guitar shop.
