Tidenham Tunnel

We did a round 20 mile cycle ride with our neighbours, Archie and Jane, late morning, starting at Brockweir near Tintern (South Wales UK) It's on the National Cycle Network route that passes through the Tidenham Tunnel that's only open from 1st April for six months a year due to bats nesting.

The pitch black tunnel is lined with dim lights about three feet high to guide walkers and cyclists. The photo' shows friend Archie just about to leave the 1 mile long tunnel approaching Chepstow. It's freezing in it and ideal in the event of a nuclear attack!

We carried on past Beachley Army Barracks to The Old Severn Bridge, Chepstow (South Wales) where a person I got chatting took the group photo' of the four of us.  He also took a film photo' using my film camera which interested him.  The photo' is the extra.

After a cuppa and long chat in Wetherspoons, Chepstow, we cycled back to Brockweir where we had another brew using our stove before getting home about 6pm. Not as warm as we were expecting, but at least it was dry with spells of sunshine. Rain due in tommorow!
