Shooting Stars and Bluedicks*

After a very dark, cold, wet and windy winter this Easter Sunday feels like a day of regeneration, of warm sunlight, a proliferation of wildflowers, budding plants and new life. We have uncovered the furniture on the porch and put up the sun umbrellas. Although the coronavirus is still around, it no longer feels like the frightening, unknown killer disease it once was. Mask mandates are being lifted and people are venturing back outside, blinking in the unaccustomed sunshine and taking off the extra layers of clothing they have become used to wearing.

It is also a day of joy and of celebrating life as it emerges once again. Happy Easter to those who celebrate it, happy spring to those in the Northern Hemisphere, and may everyone on earth find a way to celebrate our home and planet earth and work to protect it.

*Not my idea to call it that.
