Hale Village 5mile Race. 300m to go!

I’d maintained a constant 8:30 for most of the race, overtaking Tania way back.
Then, with less than 400 metre’s to go,
I’m caught.
Tania sailed by with a big smile and a curt “ not this time David”
I had nothing left in the tank.
But I got an Easter egg
