Point

Saturday was Falkirk's last chance to claw back some points on the SPFL League 1 leaders and give ourselves an outside chance of automatic promotion rather than a play-off spot. It wasn't to be as, once again, we failed to beat our rivals and left Dunfermline looking very good for promotion to the Championship.

In truth, it was a good game of football and (the all-important result aside) an enjoyable day out. The sun shone, the stadium was full, and there was a really good atmosphere. In my (not entirely unbiased!) opinion Falkirk were the better side, played well, created lots of chances and, despite going 2-0 ahead, couldn't hold onto their lead and didn't make the most of the opportunities that came their way in the second half.

The match finished 2-2 with both teams taking a point, rather than the three that the Falkirk fans craved. Maybe a fair result if one leaves one's bias to one side for a moment.
