Star of Bethlehem

These small flowers have such perfect timing. Their common name is Star of Bethlehem and here they are blooming the Saturday before Easter. They’re also commonly known as eleven-o'clock lady, nap-at-noon, grass lily, and summer snowflake. They open when the sun reaches them and close when night falls.

Today was a day for working in the yard. My mom always wanted her yard mowed for Easter Sunday so when we stopped by it was pretty for family pictures. The house is gone and they are gone, but I wanted to mow their place for old times sake. After I finished her yard, I came home and Jerry and I mowed our yard. Seems it’s time for Saturday yard maintenance to begin.
