Southport 1 Chester FC 2

Chester extended their unbeaten away record to 20 games with another win and are now pretty much guaranteed 3rd place.  This means they will miss the play-off qualifier and get a home tie in the play-off semi-final on May 7th. There were 1336 Chester fans at Southport today which is very good for the 6th tier of English football.
