Alpine Swifts

Walked along the River Exe and the Exeter Canal today. Stopped at the Turf Hotel for coffee and chips. Jacqui promised me a bird hide free day but she still found  a bird viewing platform instead looking out on to Exminster Marshes - see extra, and a twitching opportunity. On the way home we stopped at Teignmouth to see alpine swifts reported near St Michael’s Church. They appeared at 6pm as predicted. Apparently there has been a major influx in many locations in the past week. Enjoyable sight to see them in the blue sky.
Last night a hedgehog returned to our garden  - captured on our little camera.
