Surprise!

This is a wallflower. Or wallflowers. I did not know I had any of these, but they are in the space where I've been spreading "wildflower mix" seeds - supposedly native. I was unaware of their presence last year, so they may have been in a seed mix I tossed out last fall. In any case - they are a surprise to me, but not a bad one. Unless I want to be picky about the native plant thing... They are absolutely not native to the USA, but they have been introduced via people's gardens and are here.

I suppose - given that they were marketed as wildflowers, I could conceivably  enter them in wildflower week...
