Small town America

Easter Monday. When I was a kid our grandfather would drive from the island up to our house 3 miles away and pick us up. Five little girls and any neighbors that were hanging around piled in the 1949 gray International, Easter eggs in our baskets and headed back to the island. He would take us down to the sandy shore and we would "roll" our eggs in the sand leaving just a trace of color showing. Then we all would hunt them up again. This would go on for hours. Some years it was warm like today and some years it was really cold. Didn't matter we rolled and rolled those eggs. He would just sit on the pier and wait until we had had enough.
The ice cream truck came by today. I really do not think many places still have an ice cream truck that drives around playing music and selling sweet treats. Maybe I'm wrong. I don't know but sparked the old Easter Monday memories. Hope you had a chance to "roll" some eggs or happy memories today as well.
