River of Flowers

Tuesday: Spring Flowers In Our Neighbourhood

Dry start to the day, temperature around 9°C.
Needed a few groceries so off to Lidl, all done by midday and as I walked to the car the rain arrived.
I haven’t been beyond my garden for the last fortnight due to Covid and the weather - had a lovely surprise as I turned the corner near home and saw clumps of bluebells … after putting away the groceries went to take some photos - bluebells, dandelions and cuckoopint https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arum_maculatum .
A wet and cold afternoon, MrD went off to Stermat and I watched “Saving Our Wild Isles” on iPlayer - narrated by David Attenborough, this is the episode which won’t be shown on TV - it’s the final episode of the “Wild Isles” series.
There were inspirational farmers who balanced their mass-production of cereal crops by having wild areas of their land where wildlife was encouraged, managed and celebrated. This programme shows hope for our wildlife through conservation and modifying farming methods to be more sympathetic to the land and the wildlife … we need lots of this, we also need a government which actually cares about protecting planet Earth …
ADDED LATER: I’m watching the film “Faraway” again on Netflix - it’s a very wet and windy night and I need to listen to jolly music and see sunshine and beautiful scenery :-))

Some of our family have been poorly, sending lots of love and hugs to them all :-)) xxxx xxx xx
Nos da pawb / goodnight all xx
