my good old friend, Xiao Kui, came back from his native Yunnan province. as promissed, he got me a gift: the pu'er tea, local speciality. the leaves are both fermented and dried into what's called tuó chá. it's brick hard and can supposedly stay forever. the smell is invigorating whereas tasting it resembles tasting a good wine: it is rich and composed of sweetness, bitterness, smoked flavour, you name it. purely divine.
