Chester FC 2 Farsley Celtic 2

An eventful match. Chester, without two of their best players, were 2-0 down after 25 minutes and then down to 10 men when Kevin Roberts was sent off after 37 minutes. The red card seemed to stir them into action and they recovered to 2-2 with a goal either side of half time. They then lost another key player to injury and were essentially down to 9 men for most of the second half as Kelly Nmai became a passenger after picking up an injury. They did well to hold on for a draw and 3rd place is now confirmed regardless of results in the final two matches.

Kelly Nmai was named man of the match by the sponsors and the media team. It was his first game, on loan from Salford, and he really stood out in the first hour. It was a shame that he was injured but he had to remain on the pitch because all the substitutes had been used.

Curiously Chester played in their away strip today because centre half Liam Edwards is colour blind and would have had difficulty distinguishing the kits.
