Unexpected Visitor

It's very unusual to see a greenfinch in the garden nowadays, although they used to be so prolific. We had a goldfinch too though knew they were close by. Bluetits have been popping in and out of the box so I draped a few tufts of cat fur (reserved for the purpose) in the trees and was delighted to watch one tease out a beakful. Later a jackdaw grabbed a huge lump and flew away with it  Spring is surely here.

May I give my heartfelt thanks for the condolences after my blip yesterday, everyone is so kind. The photo was taken as she rested in her favourite chair in the sunroom, after a difficult morning and as we considered her future,  awaiting a phone call from the vet. We all agreed on the best course of action for her and she is now out of pain and the indignity that she was suffering. Thank you all.
