Stonefly

I was looking for a photo on Tay Street when this delightfully large insect appeared. My phone offered to give me an identity, and it's a stonefly. An orange striped one, I assume.

It spends most of it's life as a nymph in the river, before emerging as an adult. Its presence is a good indication of water quality, so well done to the Tay in Perth.
