Before and after

The photograph of the second clutch of Blackbird eggs shows the top, centre, egg with a slight cracking to the side that is facing the other eggs. This was taken a few days ago so I was hopeful that they would all hatch.
It's difficult to be certain but I think all four eggs have successfully hatched in the bottom photograph. It will be easier to tell in a few days, or a week, as they develop so quickly.
I do wait until both birds are away from the nest before getting these photographs. They quickly come back to the nest and they must realise I am not a threat, just very nosey!!
On the Magpie front, they've changed their mind and abandoned the top of the conifer, probably the high wind was rocking it too much! They are now building a nest to the right of the trees, only about 5 metres from the nest that the pigeons are building!
There was an altercation this afternoon between the magpies and a crow. They obviously weren't too happy with the Crow watching where they were nesting! see the Extra.
