We both started attacking the garden today. Lots of weeds removed, some shrubs cut back and a few plants identified which haven’t made it through the winter, three clematis identified so far as losses. I will be replacing them. I was very pleased with our efforts. We went for a short local walk this afternoon and looked at the recent changes in our small town shops. We have a second bakery moved in.
I like these little flowering bulbs, snake’s head fritillaria which are spreading in a couple of locations.
Both our sons made contact this evening before dinner. Our 16 year old grandson in Canada is none too pleased that his parents have bought a 2015 manual golf car, mainly for him to drive. He learned to drive and passed his driving test on his 16th birthday using an automatic and unlike in the U.K., is permitted to drive a manual car. My husband was giving him a lesson on lifting your left foot on the clutch pedal while putting your foot down on the accelerator. He told him to practise in an empty car park on his own with his Dad watching from a distance.
