Sea Day 1

First day at sea as we cruise the South Pacific to Hawaii (sailing eastwards of Tonga and the Cook Islands). So with no ports to visit, means we have to keep ourselves busy on the ship.

So today, we had a behind the scenes tour of the theatre, galley and the laundry (the benefit of being a frequent cruiser).

It’s great to see how things are pulled together, very much like a swan, looking serene up top, while feverishly paddling away underneath. Here’s Jo, the Theatre Production Manager, showing us the backstage dressing rooms at the theatre. The average costume change fir a theatre show is 30 seconds!

Later on we went to a lecture on 30,000 years of art history given by the Art Gallery people, and had the chance to see some original Picasso etchings.

Despite being busy, sea days are fun and relaxing too.

I hope you have had a good day.
