Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Leaving the Coast

Woke up to rain for the first time these 4 days... but no matter, we were leaving this morning.    This is the last pile of oyster shells near a Willapa Bay processing plant out the car window on our way out.   The frame is a typical path around here…..gotta do something with them.    Actually most are reused as part of the continuous planting growing harvesting cycle. Bags of shells are dumped in the hatchery tanks, the larvae will attach to the shell and the bags of "seed"will be returned to the bay where the baby oysters will thrive, hopefully.
It was a lovely easy going 4 days with our son and his daughter…he’s a good Dad.    (and we didn’t feel any need to “parent”  a teenager, just be flexible,  and enjoy )   We loved taking Maple for beach and other walks but didn’t have to do the early morning and late night ones.   AND it was great to NOT do any driving!  Especially in the rain.   Thank you Peter.  ….(extra is the driver leaving Willapa Bay and the hugh wildlife refuge along with more Taylor Swift)
Always good to be home tho.
