Rome: NY Franciscan Priest Photobombs NJ Tourists

My brother and his wife joined us in Rome today! They had a hellish night flight that was delayed over 3 hours! As if that wasn’t enough torture, to get to our AirBnb, we loaded them into anchovy-packed Italian city bus with their backpacks. At the time we thought it was better than waiting in the incredibly long queue for the taxi. They took it all in stride. Instead of immediately crashing at the apartment, we all headed out to explore a bit of Trastevere. We had a delicious Roman lunch alfresco, then visited the Church of San Francesco di Ripa where a Franciscan priest from NYC (note the NY Yankees cap) walked into my photo of my relatives from Jersey — it was perfect. He apologized for photobombing (his word, not mine). Inside the church was loaded with paintings and sculptures…one of which was Bernini’s “The Ecstasy”. (Extras = busload, Bernini)
