A grand day out

A forecast was good so we booked our first visit to the Royal Horticultural Society’s major new Bridgewater garden on the north western edge of Manchester.

It was a very enjoyable three hours.  We were amazed at the great size of site. Of course at its centre is the very large walled garden and the reception buildings. My favourite area was the Mediterraneum greenhouse and the Aeonium in my blip was taken in there.

But surrounding this area there are lakes and extensive woodlands and lots of space for a future arboretum.

A few more shots in extras.
