Les Miserable

Went to the musical Les Miserable tonight with the holiday club.
It was another moving, exciting and beautiful musical.
The 1985 musical is based on Victor Hugo's 1862 book of the same name.
The characters in the musical have made many wrongs in France. They want to give signals to the people to fight and start a revolution. The protagonist of the musical, Jean Valjean, has served nineteen years in prison for stealing a piece of bread. He is paroled, but by accepting a new identity, he breaks the terms. The police inspector Javert learns of Valjean's new identity and discovers obsessed with finding him. Fantine, a single mother, turns to prostitution to help her daughter Cosette. The Thénardiers, unreliable innkeepers with whom Cosette is totally neglected, have taken Cosette into their home. Their real daughter, Éponine, is spoiled and favored in everything. After Fantine's death, Cosette is adopted by Jean Valean. Cosette later falls in love with Marius Pontmercy, one of the student rebels. Eponine later, like Cosette, falls in love with Marius. However, Marius is already in love with Cosette. Student leader Enjolras and the students plan a revolution (the Paris June uprising of 1832) to help the poor. Gavroche is a street kid whom the students help with their plan. Furthermore, the ensemble consists of prostitutes, student rebels, factory workers and many others.
