The Haycutter

The gardens at The Haycutter pub always look good but today they looked particularly lovely. In addition to this exuberant flower bed there is a line of well filled planters at eye level to lead visitors to the front door.
We were there to meet my school friend Helen and her husband David. The last couple of years have been the first where we have lived in the same country! In all those years either they have lived abroad or we have. We visited them several times when they lived in South Africa, but at last they have decided to live back in the UK, and not too far away from us. It is an enduring friendship to survive! We enjoyed our lunch together today and will be meeting again before long.
