A very sleepy bullfinch

This bullfinch appeared to be sleeping on a rock near to our feeders.  He let me approach right up to him, this picture was taken from a distance of only about 6 inches.  I put a few sunflower hearts on my hand and he took them from me.  I also stroked his head very gently and cleaned his beak and he seemed completely relaxed.  After perhaps six or seven minutes he took off and flew perfectly normally out of the garden.  I had thought that perhaps he was very poorly but he showed no signs of this as he left.  I am just grateful that I found him before Purdy did as she may not have been so gentle..
