Unfinished

Among my Mum's things I found this piece of knitting, which seems to have been the beginning of a hat that she never completed. It's made with some wool left over from a sweater that I knitted for her - it was moving to find the sweater, too, as well as an Aran cardigan that I made for her when I was a student. Funnily enough, I've kept the last piece of knitting that her mother made for me, a bright red cardigan that has definitely seen better days! These threads link us to the craft skills that we hope can be passed onto the next generations.
