Female Boat-tail Grackle

These birds, both male and female, are often at the little park nearby where we like to go with our pup Daisy. They are also often chattering away! The males have shiny black, sometimes iridescent feathers. They fly around the pine trees and over the pond and like to land on the rushes. I watch the females as they walk around in the grass, looking for things to eat and also flying, like this one who landed in this young tree and posed nicely for me. The birds add to the enjoyment of being outside, walking and drinking in the trees, birds, water and flowers, not to mention spending time with Steve & Daisy!
