Kinneil House

We took a wee day out to see Kinneil House, although it is only open at the weekends. Situated on the line of the Antonine Wall, it has a long history: short, Historic Scotland summary here, full Wikipedia version here.

Birds were in full flow, I watched a pair of nesting  jackdaws squeeze themselves through the gap at the top of the main door, below the lintel - if you look in very large you might see one ready to dive through. While wandering round the grounds we discovered the orchard, where apple blossom is coming out, (see extra) so lovely against the blue sky. An example for flower Friday, thanks to BikerBear for hosting.

The main approach is through columned gateposts but my hope of a photo including these was thwarted by someone parking a car right in front of the house, seemingly to take multiple photographs of it. I wonder who he is trying to impress - a potential customer, perhaps? I have the registration number, if anyone is interested in a 13+ year-old Mercedes CL, 64+ k on the clock, taxed until May first... .
