Earth Day

On a Clear Day You Can See - Everywhere....
In the late 1980s a project was begun to photograph the Earth without clouds.  Images were taken by weather satellites 520 miles in Space and over 2,000 were combined to make this image.  The mosaic - rather like an enormous jigsaw puzzle - took over 10 months to compile and was completed in April 1990.  The result was this exceptionally clear, sharp and colourful image of Planet Earth  (and this was long before Google Maps).
I bought a print in the early 90s, had it framed and it hangs proudly on my office wall.
