Departure

The wife (aka the Head Gardener) and daughter departed by DFDS ferry from Port of Tyne, North Shields near Newcastle-upon-Tyne, to Amsterdam this afternoon. They visited over 6 years ago and fancied returning to the bulb fields and museums, reflecting their different interests.
Onboard ship they reported how difficult it was to find somewhere to sit. There are places in the cafes, restaurants, bars etc, but each of these have entry via a ‘desk’ where you have to make a purchase. Once that’s done you can stay as long as you like. Fiona went around searching to find somewhere else and there is literally nowhere. What a novel way of extracting money from passengers. Either that or stay in your cabin.
