Groningen Photo Weekend - Day 3 - Daan

The third and last day of the photo weekend. Since we managed to visit a lot of locations on Friday and Saturday, we could take it easy today. We decided to skip the sunrise and "sleep in" until 7.30. After breakfast and checking out, we went to the beach in Delfzijl. Then we went to Termunterzijl, where we did some photography in the village and had lunch. After lunch, the old pumping station "Cremer", which is now a museum, opened. I had never been inside as it was always closed at the times I was there before. This turned out to be a big bonus location for the photo weekend, with lots of interesting engines and machinery to shoot. I will run this photo weekend a couple of times more this year and I am already certain we will revisit the museum. The station was replaced in 2000 by the "Rozema" pumping station which is located next to the old station and has a higher capacity.

In the shot is Daan, who is one of the volunteer engineers. Together with all the other volunteers, they make sure the station which was built in 1930 remains operational.

Termunterzijl marked the end of the photo weekend. It was a lot of fun with a great group!
