Forth Rail Bridge

Today's been a much more relaxing day. We left Carlisle and carried on up the M6 a short way before turning off to take the A7, which takes a little longer but which is a much more enjoyable route. We stopped at Selkirk where we found a nice little coffee shop open. It had been a lovely day so far but as we got closer to Edinburgh the weather closed in and it started to rain.

It was still a little early to check in to our hotel so I had a couple of ideas about where to go for a blip and lunch and decided to go to South Queensferry for this view of the bridge. Unfortunately, I missed my turn and ended up driving across the new bridge and back. A waste of time and fuel but not a bad thing to do. It was quite busy at South Queensferry but we managed to get parked and have a bowl of Cullen Skink at the Railbridge Bistro. After that we drove to our hotel which is quite near to where Frances lives and after settling in went there for the evening.

My two pictures were taken an hour apart. The main blip before lunch and the extra after lunch.
