Seeing Beyond Looking

All Things French: Mono Monday

I liked the mono challenge today. I live in neighbouring France, just 35 minutes over the lake from Ouchy port, below the town of Lausanne.

Yesterday, we opened a delicious bottle of red Bordeaux wine. The very elegant name is called Château Lafitte Laujac, an area in the south-west of France, just above the town of Bordeaux.

I know you will love the description of this wine:
"Deep ruby red colour with purple hues, youthful berry aromas with hints of smoked, elderberry and cassis, with a hint of ivy, supple on the attack, a powerful roundness, slightly young structure with pleasant yet evident tannins."
My crystal glasses are also French and come from the 'Cristal d'Arques'. Arques is a small town in the north of France.

I drank this wine with my French friend, Jean, who didn't want to be in the photo!

Thank you for looking at this photo in large so that it isn't cut in half!

Thank you to jensphotos who suggested this lovely idea.

P.S.
The words to the French National Anthem are pretty horrific ... all about war and bloodshed.  The song was written in 1792 by Claude Joseph Rouget de Lisle in Strasbourg after the declaration of war by France against Austria, and was originally titled "Chant de guerre pour l'Armée du Rhin"
