A Mellow Yellow Monday

My goodness did it rain yesterday, over an inch, and the next two days will be drizzly and damp as well.  The woods are well soaked and the birdbath is full.  I thought I would bring in a bit of cheery yellow to brighten the breakfast room.  "How wonderful yellow is.  It stands for the sun." - Vincent Van Gogh.  Art historians have always been arguing about why Van Gogh's palette became increasing yellow later in his short life.  It began with dark, somber colors and ended in a swirl of golden yellow.  If you are interested, here is a link to an article with a new theory.  What I know is that yellow makes you feel happy, even on a grey dank day.
