Journey's End

What a great experience. As part of Schull Short Film Festival, we took the ferry across to Long Island this morning where Robert hosted a screening of short films in his very pleasant house! Twenty of us arrived, including TJ, in two small ferries and crammed into his back room where we watched four excellent short films, all with a local West Cork twist. Refreshments were provided and then we managed to take a short walk on what looks like a very beautiful island - we even saw a cuckoo. Home to just 7 full time residents, many of the houses are now ruined or restored and let as holiday homes. It has a very other worldy feel to it and I really want to get back and explore. Here is Robert coming to greet us, worth biggifying to see the film paraphernalia. You can see the mainland in the background.

We then were ferried back to Schull and ate a large lunch in Hacketts, followed by some more films in one of the bars.

The sunshine has gone - has it come your way? I hope it returns for the sons and a girlfriend are arriving shortly - one tomorrow and two on Monday. My boss has given me the week off, how lovely is that!
