Incubation time

I warm up the incubator, load it with its payload off seven eggs, and leave it to its own devices. In the cupboard under the stairs. For 18 days. In three week, or so, we’ll find out if the young cockerel has got what it takes.

Jon and I lay out the weeding for the new bed, complete with matting. We even get one side complete before the rain sets in.

Then, all too soon, it’s time to give him a lift to the airport. And back into Edinburgh to collect Megan from Waverley.

Hungry, we stop at Pataka and have a great meal. Too much food, so we get a doggy bag for tomorrow.
