Signage

I timed my arrival at Haydon Bridge perfectly for a wait while two locomotives passed by on the Newcastle to Carlisle line. There was a fair gap between them so one or two other motorists were getting impatient by edging forwards. Better to do as I did and switch off the engine and do some observation.
I noticed the poor state of the signs, the best being the road name, Station Road, which will outlast the more recent ones. The wall is that of the manned signal box. Semaphore signals are still used on this stretch. The mirror helps him see approaching traffic on his blind side.
