Mill on the Exe

Leo had an evening trial for a Sports Academy at Exeter College where he will go from September.  He had a great time but doesn’t think he will get in as it is really competitive and only 10 places up for grabs.  He said he was glad he attended whatever the outcome as it was a really different experience playing in a game where everyone was skilled in their chosen position.

He has loved playing for our local Cully Rangers team for years.  That is not selective in any way but  is a real community squad. Everyone who goes to training gets a game and they are all just a bunch of mates having fun.  It will be a sad end of a boyhood era when the team finishes at the end of this season and they all head off in different directions to College.

We had 2 hours to kill in Exeter so Ian and I decided to kill the time with a meal at the Mill on the Exe pub.  It was very nice food and it was lovely to hear the accompaniment of the rushing water.
