Falmouth

A dull day today but no rain and a tad milder. We drove down to Falmouth where we went to the maritime museum . It’s a huge building with lots of small boats and history about them, a large display currently about Pirates, nasty people, over romanticised, and a large display of Tattoo art which was gruesomely fascinating.
Up many stairs is an amazing viewing point over the harbour .
There’s very little about Naval history or anything like that. I expect you need to go to Greenwich to find that.
After a pasty we walked around the town. There are lots of shops , mostly open, some quite interesting, then we wandered around the harbour. A huge number of boats of all sizes are moored there.
There are two Royal Fleet  Auxiliary ships there , big grey hulking things.
We’re going to a restaurant, The Pig at Harlyn later to celebrate my birthday. We can’t get a taxi so will walk along the cliff path. Coming back in the dark could be interesting, so we’ve bought torches to be on the safe side!
