Elm seeds

Grey, overcast, damp day. Watching a big cruise ship sending tenders into Leith, partly from the windows and partly on vesseltracker.

Afternoon walk around by Charlotte Square and Rose Street, then back by Queen St Gardens. Google search suggests that these are the seeds of a grey elm, ulmus canescans, or possibly a Wych Elm (ulmus glabra). Once the leaves come out it will be easier to tell them apart. It's a big tree, in the damp sheltered bottom of the garden.
