Egyptian Geese on the Thames at Putney

Alopochen aegyptiacus
Not a native species, but now quite common on the Thames. They pair for life so these two are old friends on the tideway. They had some goslings only just a few weeks back so I guess they lost them. Sad but I hope they have better luck next time. The male bird has a genetic condition that gives him sticky-out wings. It doesn't seem to bother him though and he has been around a long time.

They are quite tame and know that people like to come down and feed them, hence when I crouched down with the phone, they got all interested and thought that their luck was in.
