Heading North

Backblip
Always sad saying good bye to my Mum but we’ll be back down in June so not long to wait.
A rainy start to the journey , luckily the traffic was not too bad and we made it through the tunnel with not much trouble.
We stopped at a Service station for refreshments, a Costa toasted cheese sandwich and croissant.
Continued our journey north avoiding traffic near Cambridge and ended up in Huntingdon. We were going to stop n the park we found last time but got in the wrong lane in the one way system so even though we could see the entrance we could not get to it unless we went all the way round again. We parked in another carpark and had a rest and a cup of tea.
We noticed there was a country park nearby so we went there for a walk to stretch our legs. The sun was out now so a pleasant walk at Hinchingbrooke . Not many birds around on the water , just a lone Great crested grebe.
We continued our journey north to Chesterfield where we were staying for the night .
Made it in time to have the meal deal in the Brewers Fayre , two mains for £10 add a starter or pudding for £2,49.
We had smoothed chicken for our main which was really tasty , Chicken gougons for starter and profiteroles for pudding.
